The moment, the absolute moment Alice's eyes had left his, Jasper's head had turned toward Natasha. He can feel how careful she's being about what she's feeling, and while on the surface it all seems as it should be, he knows he's only picking up what she wants him to. There had been a distressing sensation of her floating away for a few moments, which had only really registered with him once it had come to an end, and while his hands are still settled comfortably around Alice's waist, all his sharp attention is on Natasha now.
"I'll call Carlisle and let him know," Alice says immediately and leans up to peck Jasper's cheek before slipping out of his arms and almost dancing toward the balcony. Jasper watches her go with a little half smile and ambles toward the couch.
"You seem locked up tight," he says quietly, but he doesn't hesitate as he takes a seat a few feet away. His Alice is back. He's never doubted how much of a difference she makes to him, to his mind, to the strength of his heart.
