He knows it's important. It's vital, if they're to have any future at all, to decide how to bring that about. But all of this, everything they've discussed, it all feels as though it's missing something, and it is, it's missing Alice. Maybe it's the familiarity of the house and the area, maybe it's growing closer to Natasha, but Alice's absence aches now inside him in a way it hadn't done at the cabin. He misses her, and he only thinks he's doing the right thing, he doesn't know. She'd always been good at being the one who knew.
